[woodcut of horse] There stands at my plantation at Verina,
in Henrico, a large stallion, of the dray breed, just
imported, full 16 hands and a half high, and well calculated
for getting work horses. He will cover mares at fifteen
shillings the leap, pasturage gratis. [signed] Thomas M.
Randolph.
At Verina there stand
A horse sixteen hands,
In order for subagitation
The farmers allow,
For the cart or the plow,
The breed in the best in the nation.
From Britain he came,
Goliah's his name,
A dray, both active and stout;
He'll do his endeavour
To treat with full measure
Each female that wants it no doubt.
